The climate of the Azores is generally very pleasant, ideal for enjoying nature on land and at sea. It is characterized by mild temperatures, high relative humidity, and regular rainfall, with an average temperature of 17°C in winter and 25°C in summer. 

During the coldest period of the year, temperatures rarely drop below 14ºC, and although rainfall is regular, it tends to be passing. The winter weather in the Azores is said to have four seasons in one day. Even with this relatively high temperature in winter, ice can form at the top of Pico mountain, which stands at 2350m. 

In summer, the thermometer averages 25ºC, the sun is constantly present, and the sea temperature ranges between 17ºC and 23ºC, inviting for a swim.

The islands in the eastern group (São Miguel and Santa Maria) usually have a drier and hotter climate than those in the western group (Flores, Corvo, Faial, Pico, São Jorge, and Terceira), which are more humid and cooler. The more mountainous islands, such as Pico and São Jorge, tend to have a cooler climate.
